Description
Sheppard Pratt School in Rockville is a nonpublic special education day school serving students ages 5-21 (grades K-12) with a range of needs including autism, development delay, emotional disability, multiple disabilities, other health impairments, specific learning disability, and speech or language impairments. Our small class sizes and individualized instruction ensure that students receive the attention and support they need to succeed academically and emotionally. What to expect
You will provide
comprehensive speech and language services
to students identified as needing support.
Specific responsibilities include:
Identifying, assessing, diagnosing, and treating
speech, voice, fluency, hearing, and language disorders in our student population
Providing
individual and group therapy
tailored to the developmental needs of students and completing quality documentation
Collaborating with
interdisciplinary treatment teams .
Developing and presenting speech-language programs for
staff development and training .
Staying current with
advances in speech pathology and special education techniques , especially in school-based settings.

Qualifications
A master’s degree in speech pathology from an accredited college or university.
Must have licensure by the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).
Six months of related experience, which can include an internship or practicum.
