Speech Language Pathology Aide
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Speech and Language Disorders, Communication Disorders, or a similar field
Assist the SLP as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement
Assist the SLP in providing a therapeutic program to meet the individual needs of students with speech and/or hearing impairments
Assist the SLP in providing a thorough assessment of articulation, voice, hearing, fluency, or language impairments without clinical interpretation
Assist the SLP in screening to identify students with speech impairment at regular intervals and at specified levels without clinical interpretation
Follow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP
Document student performance and report this information to the supervising SLP
Program and provide instruction in the use of AAC devices
Provide information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate and under the guidance of the supervising SLP
