Moreau Catholic High School is currently seeking a passionate and innovative
Computer Science Teacher
to join our faculty beginning August 2026.
Founded in 1965 under the sponsorship of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Moreau Catholic High School emphasizes college‑preparatory excellence in all programs designed to facilitate the informative, formative, and transformative needs of the individual student. Located approximately 25 miles southeast of San Francisco, in Hayward, California, the school is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). With approximately 844 students, the co‑educational student body reflects the rich ethnic and cultural diversity of the Bay Area, and the school has enjoyed a 99% collegiate matriculation. Our graduating seniors have been accepted into 1,000+ universities and colleges yearly, and have garnered, on average, between $11‑14 million in scholarships and grants.
Qualifications:
Experience designing and teaching high school computer science courses (Introductory Programming, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science A, Video Game Programming)
Familiarity with AP Computer Science curriculum
Strong knowledge of programming concepts and computer science fundamentals
Experience with diverse learners and inclusive teaching practices
A valid California Teaching Credential or ability to obtain one.
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science preferred.
Inspires students to develop computational thinking skills, problem solving abilities and a strong foundation in programming and technology.
Demonstrates and promotes the responsible use of technology as a learning tool.
This educator will create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment that prepares students for college, careers, and lifelong learning in a digital world.
Maintains high standards of student performance and engages students using a variety of pedagogical methods.
Establishes a learning environment where every student’s right to learn is respected.
Differentiates instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
Incorporates project‑based learning and real‑world applications.
Assesses student progress and provides timely, constructive feedback.
Fosters a classroom culture that promotes curiosity, collaboration, and equity.
Provides help for students outside of class time.
Communicates regularly with students, families, and staff.
Participates in school events, professional development, and departmental meetings.
Additional Information:
We offer a very competitive salary and excellent benefits package with an additional stipend for a master’s and/or doctorate degree. Placement on the salary schedule is based on education and teaching experience. Transcripts will be required at time of hire.
Annual compensation based on Moreau Catholic’s Faculty Salary Scale: $65,500 - $123,966
