HVAC or Plumbing Design Engineer

My client is an MEP Consulting Engineer who is seeking 3 to 14 years of experience in HVAC or Plumbing experience to support HVAC system design for new construction and renovation projects across our control center, data center, and mission critical projects. This role involves producing schematic and construction-level documentation in close collaboration with senior engineers and multidisciplinary design teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop HVAC system layouts, ductwork and piping plans, and equipment selections for new and existing facilities.
Prepare schematic design and construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
Conduct site surveys and assist in documenting existing mechanical systems.
Perform HVAC load calculations, ventilation calculations, and system sizing.
Collaborate closely with in-house architectural, electrical, structural, and civil teams to ensure fully coordinated designs.
Work under the guidance of senior mechanical engineers to translate conceptual designs into buildable systems.
Participate in QA/QC reviews and incorporate feedback into deliverables.
Support the production of specifications and equipment schedules.
Qualifications
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required.
Minimum 3 years of mechanical/HVAC design experience.
Classes in HVAC or related field is a plus
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc)
Familiarity with HVAC design standards (ASHRAE, ANSI) is a plus
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
