This role ensures a healthy, safe, and compliant environment for students, staff, and visitors through proactive monitoring, investigation, remediation, and reporting of IAQ conditions. The Coordinator serves as the district's subject matter expert on IAQ and environmental comfort and works in close coordination with maintenance, custodial, health services, and construction teams.## MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES1.
Implements the district-wide IAQ Management Plan in alignment with EPA “Tools for Schools” and other regulatory frameworks.

Leads the district's efforts in identifying, monitoring, and resolving IAQ concerns, including temperature, humidity, ventilation, odors, mold, carbon dioxide, and airborne contaminants.

Establishes procedures for responding to IAQ complaints, including investigation, data collection, communication, and remediation oversight.4.
Conducts or coordinates IAQ assessments, HVAC inspections, and environmental sampling using calibrated instrumentation and professional standards.

Maintains detailed records of complaints, investigations, findings, and corrective actions.

Analyzes trends in IAQ data to proactively address systemic issues and improve indoor environmental quality.## MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED7.
Serves as the primary point of contact for IAQ issues district-wide.

Works collaboratively with Maintenance & Repairs, Building Services, Health Services, Risk Management, and school administrators to investigate and address IAQ concerns.

Communicates findings and recommended actions clearly to school stakeholders, including staff, as appropriate.10.
Ensures compliance with EPA, ASHRAE, and state/local health department regulations related to indoor air quality.
11.
Performs other duties as assigned.## EDUCATION•
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Occupational Health, Public Health, or a related field.

Environmental related training required to obtain necessary licenses to perform associated tasks.## WORK EXPERIENCE5+ years in environmental related discipline## SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONPreferred Certifications:
•
Certified Indoor Environmentalist (CIE)
•
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
•
OSHA 30-Hour General Industry
•
EPA Asbestos, Mold, or Lead certifications
•
HVAC, building systems, or energy management credentials (e.g., CEM, LEED)
\*Ability to direct and implement state of the art practices and procedures relevant to industry standards
\*Expertise in IAQ investigation techniques, instrumentation, sampling, and remediation.
\* Ability to develop cost estimates per a specific scope of work
\*Ability to communicate effectively in written form with all levels of management both internal and external to the district
\*Literacy in SAP and PeopleSoft, as well as competence in other computer software applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
\*Ability to address employee issues and interpret Board policies and procedures
\*Ability to organize and oversee daily activities of multifaceted department## LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIESProvides day-to-day direction to staff; may become directly involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems. Responsible for assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring application of policies and procedures. Receives assignments in the form of objectives, with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Allocates resource according to priorities and serves as primary decision maker regarding hiring, performance, and budget recommendations.## WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENTWork is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgement is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department and/or division. Supervision received typically consists of providing direction on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.## BUDGET AUTHORITYParticipates in a group plan and/or advises on budget development.## PROBLEM SOLVINGDecisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improv existing methods or generate new ideas.## IMPACT OF DECISIONSDecisions have considerable impact to multiple divisions of the organization causing risks or improvements to relationships, significant efficiencies, or delays in operations, and/or significant financial gains or expenses.
