Position Summary
The Resource Sharing/Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Department in the University of New Mexico College of University Libraries & Learning Sciences (CULLS) seeks motivated and highly engaged students interested in a challenging behind-the-scenes work environment. Due to the timely nature of interlibrary loan workflows, we are seeking individuals with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and dependability.
Under direct supervision, Library Assistants work with University Libraries staff and student employees in a team environment to:
Locate and retrieve materials from within the University Libraries.
Update returnable materials in UNM's integrated library system and ILL management system.
Prepare returnable materials for UNM patrons and other institutions.
Open mail, sorting items being returned from items being borrowed.
Scan requested chapters/articles using overhead scanners.
Shelve and distribute library materials, including delivery to buildings across campus.
This position offers hours Monday - Friday between 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Evening and weekend hours are not available.

Demonstrated ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively.
