About the Opportunity
Amentum is a leading technical services partner, supporting the UK's most experienced professionals. Hinkley Point C (HPC) is the first new nuclear power station built in the UK in over 20 years. The project will generate 3.26 GW of secure, low‑carbon electricity for 60 years and create thousands of jobs.
Role responsibilities
Lead coordination efforts among engineers from multi‑disciplined technical teams.
Utilise key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to monitor JDO's performance across designated buildings.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
Ensure timely delivery of all design and construction changes to meet construction demands.
Participate in readiness reviews of Design Packages before construction, as requested by design owners.
Collaborate closely with Design teams, Contractors, and Construction teams to uphold technical quality standards, construction schedules, and safety protocols.
Provide proactive updates to the JDO Area Lead and Engineering Manager regarding risks and facilitate swift resolution of emerging issues.
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering (preferably Civil, Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent, with relevant experience in large multi‑disciplinated engineering projects, preferably nuclear.
Familiarity with Contract Management, particularly ONR and CDM Regulations, and ability to maintain accurate records.
Strong engineering background and the ability to spot procedural improvements and resolve low‑complexity issues.
Ability to set personal targets and draft action plans to achieve project objectives.
Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to work independently under broad supervision.
Experience in design, drafting, or construction, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Technical knowledge and a pragmatic approach to issue management with minimal supervision.
