IT Solution Architect

position at its Corporate Headquarters in New Braunfels, TX. The person in this role will assist the Director of Enterprise Architect in managing Alamo Group's information and technology solution architecture. The IT Solution Architect plays a pivotal role in designing and delivering integrated technology solutions that support the digital transformation of an equipment manufacturing enterprise.

This role bridges business needs and technical execution, ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in manufacturing systems, cloud platforms, and modern integration strategies.

The IT Solution Architect will:
Analyze and evaluate the current system architecture to identify areas for improvement.
Design end-to-end IT solutions that align with business goals and enterprise architecture standards
Collaborate with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, and development teams to translate requirements into technical designs
Lead solution design for ERP, MES, CRM, PLM, and other core manufacturing systems
Develop integration strategies across cloud, on-premises, and edge environments
Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, security, and compliance requirements
Create and maintain solution architecture documentation, including diagrams, data flows, and interface specifications
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate
Support project delivery by guiding development teams and validating technical implementation
Participate in architecture governance and solution review boards
Contribute to the development of reusable architecture patterns and best practice
Perform additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have/be:

Strong understanding of solution architecture principles and design patterns
Experience with ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle), MES, PLM, and CRM systems in manufacturing environments
Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid architectures
Familiarity with integration technologies (APIs, ESB, microservices, ETL tools)
Knowledge of data modeling, analytics platforms, and master data management
Ability to assess and mitigate risks related to performance, security, and scalability
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field is required. Master's degree preferred.
7+ years of experience in IT solution architecture with a focus on manufacturing or industrial sectors, or a related role.

Working Conditions:

Primarily in an office environment with frequent sitting for extended periods of time with occasional visits to manufacturing environments. May be required to travel 10% on an annual basis
