Job Purpose/Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger for Chevy Chase Trust ("CCT") and ASB Capital Management ("ASB"). The Senior Accountant will also assist in the preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and analysis and annual budget preparation for CCT and ASB.

Essential Job Functions of the Senior Accountant

Accuracy of general ledger

Ensuring that each general ledger account is reconciled/analyzed and adequately supported

Ensuring that general ledger entries are appropriate and properly reflect the underlying transaction

Balancing cash to the general ledger daily

Consistent reporting between and among various items audited statements, call reports, client reporting systems, etc.

Ensure that revenue and expense accruals are accurate and adequately supported

Timely and accurate processing of invoices for general ledger coding and approvals

Preparation of timely and accurate financial reporting

Annual financial statements, including footnotes, prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles ("GAAP") or the income tax basis of accounting, as appropriate

Internal financial statements and reports prepared in accordance with both GAAP and cash basis

Periodic regulatory financial reports

Forecast and budget

Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts including an analysis of variance from the prior forecast and a summary of proposed changes for the next forecast

Assist in the preparation of annual operating budget

Assist in the preparation of quarterly cash flow forecast

Accounts Payable

Evaluate expense reimbursement requests for compliance with company policies, necessary approvals and proper general ledger account coding

Generate check payments or process electronic fund transfer (EFT) through accounting system

Generate check registers and positive pay files for check payment validation

Generate invoices for reimbursement of shared expenses

Assist with external and internal audit requests

Special projects and other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities of the Senior Accountant

High level of interpersonal communication skills; ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.

Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone and in writing.

Ability to work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow team members.

Strong attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.

Capability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment with demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks and demands.

Required Education / Experience of the Senior Accountant

Four‑year degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

4‑5 years of relevant job experience

Investment management accounting background preferred

Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)

Yardi accounting software experience preferred

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements / Travel

This position is based in an office environment with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

This position does not require travel.

Compensation
The actual base pay offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held. Base pay is one component of Chevy Chase Trust's total compensation package, which also includes access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, bonus plans and more. The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $110,000 per year.
