
Systems Support Specialist I

What We're Looking For
Supports senior personnel with installing, supporting and performing upgrades to new and existing servers and telecommunications systems. Installs system software and performs updates to operating systems and firmware. Creates user accounts and performs password resets. Helps troubleshoot connectivity issues for local users and remote users connecting through the VPN. Works with senior personnel to support fiber/copper infrastructure and telecommunications systems in the field.
What You’ll Do
Configures and installs new computer hardware and software for end users.
Assists end users with moderate to complex hardware, software and operating system issues.
Supports asset management activities such as inventory check‑in, updates and reconciliation.
Assists in the coordination and configuring of IT products and services for activities such as video conferencing, webinars and conference room presentations.
Documents group process and procedure; reviews documentation created by team members.
Researches, recommends and implements solutions with direction from the senior or team leader.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
In lieu of a degree, 2 years of relevant experience.
What You’ll Bring
Understands Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
Reviews and monitors system dashboards and performs routine maintenance checks.
Investigates system logs and isolates relevant entries to help troubleshoot problems.
Executes detailed test plans to validate system functionality.
What We Prefer
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems with 2 years of related experience.
Pursuing Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification.
