Title: Data Modeler
Location: Harrisburg, PA (once a month onsite) Candidate must be located in Pennsylvania
Duration: Contract 12 months
Need locals only (PA) with local PA projects
Need public health or healthcare industry with various health applications and data.

Operational Requirements
The Data Modeler / Data Architect role is senior-level, requiring specialized expertise in data analysis, modeling, and database design. The contractor must demonstrate experience in:
Development, validation, publication, and maintenance of data designs, logical and physical data models, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories.
Collaboration with EDW teams and DOH stakeholders to deliver solutions that address technical and business requirements.
Developing and implementing data analysis methodologies and validating business use cases.
Working closely with business analysts, application developers, and DBAs to meet project objectives, including delivery deadlines, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills & Experience
Advanced experience in data profiling, analysis, and design, including information domain models, data structures, and integrity rules.
Expertise in logical and physical data modeling, with tools like ErWin or similar.
Experience managing metadata, data dictionaries, and technical documentation.
Ability to analyze and translate business requirements into optimized data models, flows, and database solutions.
In-depth knowledge of relational databases, entity relationships, data warehousing, facts, dimensions, and star schema concepts.
Strong proficiency with SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, stored procedures, ELT processes, scripts, and complex queries.
Working knowledge of Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Synapse, and Python.
Experience evaluating data systems for discrepancies and efficiency.
Ability to audit databases and implement systems to maintain data quality and security.
Experience using Azure DevOps and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects independently, with strong organizational skills.
Excellent teamwork and relationship-building.
Capable of explaining complex technical concepts and data to various audiences.
10+ years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (advanced study preferred).
