Linux Systems Administrator Location: Remote Other Consideration: Permanent Residents or U.S. Citizenship (Required)
SUMMARY:
The Linux Systems Administrator designs, builds, and maintains robust Linux-based infrastructure and tools that support mission-critical applications. This hybrid role combines deep systems expertise with development capabilities to automate operations, enhance performance, and ensure system reliability across cloud and on-prem environments. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop solutions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, configure, and maintain Linux servers and operating environments.
Develop automation scripts and tools using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, OS, and application-level issues.
Implement security best practices, including patching, access controls, and vulnerability remediation.
Collaborate with software engineering teams to optimize system integration and deployment workflows.
Architect, develop and deploy cloud-based solutions on the Azure platform.
Provision virtual machines, integration runtimes, compute, and storage resources in the Azure and AWS platforms.
Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and recovery plans.
SUCCESS FACTORS
Experience in Linux system engineering or development roles
Proficiency in Linux administration Red Hat Enterprice Linux (RHEL) and shell scripting
Strong experience provisioning virtual machines, compute, and storage resources.
Familiarity with Azure cloud services and DevOps practices
Experience migrating on-premises applications, databases, and infrastructure to Azure.
Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and recovery plans.
Proficiency in scripting languages and tools for infrastructure automation
Strong understanding of Cloud networking concepts and security
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
Minimum of 6 years of experience
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT
This position may require Public Trust clearance. Candidates must undergo a background investigation, including a review of employment history, education, criminal records, and financial history.
