Week of June 8th: Planning

June 15th – August 14th: Delivery of STEAM Experiences

Weekly Hours:

Monday & Friday:

9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Wednesday:

10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Job Description
Role Overview:

The Ignite Maker Mobile Lab Learning Facilitator is a high‑energy, licensed educator responsible for bringing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) to life. You will pilot our mobile lab to various community sites, delivering hands‑on, multi‑age lessons that spark curiosity and innovation. This role requires a blend of technical maker savviness and the ability to lead a diverse, mobile classroom.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Design & Delivery:

Create and facilitate engaging, age‑appropriate STEAM lessons for diverse groups of students (K–12).

Mobile Lab Operations:

Oversee the daily setup and breakdown of the mobile lab environment at various community locations.

Student Supervision:

Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. Set clear behavioral expectations and manage group dynamics effectively on the bus and at outdoor sites.

Community Engagement:

Act as a brand ambassador for the program, providing resources and guidance to students and their families.

Resource Management:

Maintain an organized inventory of high‑tech and low‑tech maker materials, ensuring equipment is ready for use.

Other duties as assigned.

Technical Proficiencies & Tools

Digital Tools:

LEGO Essentials/Spike Prime, VR technology, 3D printing (TinkerCAD / Slicing software).

Unplugged STEAM:

Facilitating low‑tech engineering and computational thinking activities, including:

Logic & Algorithms:

Teaching coding concepts through physical games and manual sequence building.

Rapid Prototyping:

Utilizing recycled materials and cardboard construction to solve engineering challenges.

Kinesthetic Learning:

Designing activities that move students through the scientific method without a screen.

Electronics:

Circuitry kits (Makey Makey, LittleBits) or microcontrollers.

Qualifications

Licensure:

Must hold a valid Colorado Teaching License (in good standing).

Instructional Skill:

Demonstrated experience in classroom management and facilitating student‑led inquiry.

Passion for STEAM:

A genuine maker mindset – you love to build, break, and fix things.

Adaptability:

Ability to think on your feet, especially when technology decides to be difficult in the field.

Reporting:

This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.

Compensation:

Hourly: $37.50
