Job Description
The MTSS and Professional Learning Facilitator (K-5) supports the implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports across elementary schools and assists in coordinating district professional learning. This position collaborates with school and district administrators and teachers to strengthen Tier I instruction, support targeted interventions, and promote data-informed instructional practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Maryland Professional Teaching Certificate/License

Minimum five (5) years of successful teaching experience or school counseling or related field

Experience in planning and delivering professional learning for educators

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, school counseling or a related field

Experience with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), Response to Intervention (RTI), or similar instructional frameworks

Deep understanding of the science of reading, data-based decision-making protocols, problem-solving, strategies, and interventions.

Director of Teaching and Learning

Job Goal:

To strengthen instructional systems and professional learning that support the effective implementation of MTSS in grades K-5, ensuring that all students receive high-quality instruction and appropriate academic and behavioral supports to meet their individual learning needs.

Essential Performance Responsibilities

Support the district-wide implementation of MTSS in grades K-5 aligned with district priorities and state guidance.

Collaborate with school administrators, instructional coaches, and teachers to strengthen Tier I instruction and targeted interventions.

Assist schools in analyzing student data to inform instructional planning, intervention design, and progress monitoring.

Assist schools in implementing progress monitoring systems and intervention supports.

Assist in coordinating district professional learning opportunities aligned with instructional priorities and school improvement goals.

Support grant-funded initiatives related to MTSS and professional learning.

Manage the professional learning district management system.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment:

Grant Funded Position. Eleven-month year. Salary to be established by the Board.
