All teachers, certified staff and School Manager.
Job Summary:
Leads and supports all school staff with high expectations through sound instructional and professional practices connected to the district vision. Responsible for creating an environment that is welcoming, collaborative, and supportive for all students, teachers, staff, families, and the community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A valid Maryland teacher’s Certificate with appropriate Administrator or Supervisor endorsements (or proven eligibility).
Master’s Degree in applicable field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.
At least five (5) years of successful experience as a teacher, administrator or supervisor
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides instructional leadership in alignment with the curriculum and the instructional process by monitoring and conducting observations and evaluations to yield successful outcomes for students and teachers.
Reviews and analyzes data for informed decision-making.
Develops a climate that fosters a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.
Interviews, recommends for hire, directs, supervises and evaluates the school’s certificated and instructional personnel.
Collaborates with district leadership in various departments including but not limited to Teaching & Learning, Student Services, Human Resources, Transportation, etc.
Supervises the development, design and/or final approval of the master class and teaching schedules and for teacher assignments.
Provides leadership in moments of school crisis.
Leads, implements and monitors the school’s strategic plan process.
Supports, participates, and provides input at team/staff meetings including, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and at grade-level and special education meetings.
Keeps the assistant superintendent informed of the school’s activities, achievements and matters of concern to ensure support is provided, as needed.
Participates in professional learning and leadership meetings.
Maintains professionalism, sound ethical practices, and exercises good judgment.
Delegates authority to responsible personnel for the operation of the school on a day-to-day basis and in the absence of the principal.
Performs such other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of School Leadership and Student Success.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Exempt position. Twelve (12) month year. Salary to be established by the Board.
