Overview
As an Archaeological Field Supervisor (Project Scientist) for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), in our St. Louis, MO, you’ll manage project teams to navigate today’s complex environmental regulatory landscape, helping our commercial, institutional, and energy clients with cultural resource compliance. You’ll manage all phases of both historic and prehistoric archaeological investigations; project work will include development of archaeological work plans, fieldwork, artifact analysis and curation, report preparation, and development and implementation of mitigation plans. Working with clients, contractors, and local government officials, you’ll impact the whole project – from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field (must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and Guidelines)
3+ years of demonstrated experience in historic and prehistoric archaeological investigations
Supervisory field and analytic experience in general North American archaeology, preferably Midwest
Archaeological research, administration, or management
Demonstrated ability to carry research to completion
Ability to work outdoors under various field conditions
Ability to travel (75%) for out-of-town work
Ability to speak and write professionally
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with GPS devices, geomorphological techniques, and GIS

Salary Range
The posting range for this position is between $50,000 - $75,000 based on experience and location (in addition, CEC offers overtime pay and other benefits).
