What the role is about:
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the production of cannabis‑based medicines through the extraction, processing, formulation, and packaging of cannabis materials. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Note:
The work schedule for this role is 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM from Monday‑Friday.
What impact you’ll make:
Assist in the production of cannabis‑based medicines, including extraction and processing of cannabis material.
Perform distillation of active cannabinoid content and other formulation activities as required.
Operate and maintain manufacturing and laboratory equipment; assist with minor repairs and maintenance as needed.
Package cannabis products according to formulation and quality standards.
Conduct quality control checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
Keep accurate and up‑to‑date laboratory logs, recording all tasks performed and relevant results.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of production materials to ensure supply chain continuity.
Provide feedback to support continuous improvement of processes, efficiency, and product quality.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
Ensure the lab and all equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and properly prepared for the next day’s shift.
Perform additional tasks as needed to ensure adequate product supply to meet patient demand.
What you’ve accomplished:
Associate degree or a minimum of two years of relevant experience in manufacturing or laboratory operations.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical and Communication Requirements:
Ability to communicate effectively with management and coworkers, both in person and through telephone and email.
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
Normal hearing and vision are essential for conversations, receiving information, and reviewing documents.
Some heavy lifting may be required; must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally.
Good manual dexterity required for handling office and laboratory equipment.
Must be comfortable operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting scientific and packaging equipment.
Strong reasoning skills necessary to solve a wide range of problems.
Work Environment:
Indoor work in a traditional laboratory setting.
Regular exposure to chemicals and laboratory agents.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety clothing, goggles, gloves, face masks, or hats is required when necessary.
Activities involve extended periods of sitting or standing and frequent use of laboratory and packaging machinery.
Job Type:
Full‑time; Union position
Starting union pay is at $23/hr.
