
Patient Care Technician PeriOp Children's South

Schedule
Full‑time. Day shift, Monday through Friday, 5:30 am – 2:00 pm (8‑hour shift).
Responsibilities
Responsible for providing support and non‑technical patient care within the department of Children’s South Surgery and Surgical Services. Assists in the delivery of care to patients under the instruction of the perioperative nursing team and other licensed personnel as directed. Organizes and maintains established PAR levels of supplies. Performs basic computer functions for order entry, retrieval, charge and data entry. Assists the perioperative nurse in implementing and maintaining appropriate standards of care based on Age‑Specific Categories recommended by the Medical Executive Committee. Collects and processes patient specimens as assigned. Performs clerical work in support of surgical services and other needed activities. Contributes to the Children’s Health System Mission to provide the finest pediatric health services.
Qualifications
Basic Life Support
Relevant Experience
1 year staff level experience (non‑essential)
Credentials
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Typing and basic computer skills with working knowledge of Sorian and SIS computer programs
