Job Description:
PART TIME: M, T, W 7A-3:30P
Attends department meetings and engages in positive dialogue to support department objectives.
Obtains high-quality scans by following proper exam protocols and adapting procedures to each patient's medical situation.
Confirms patient and exam accuracy using two patient identifiers before administering exams.
Performs, documents, and reports all procedures in accordance with departmental policy.
Reviews images and completes ultrasound worksheets and/or reports promptly if applicable, re-scanning patients as requested.
Communicates and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, including notifying physicians of abnormal findings.
Utilizes computer systems to update exam status, manage orders, and ensure accurate charges.
Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment safely, adhering to infection control standards.
Performs a full range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures and rotates between multiple departments as needed.
Assists with clinical instructions and serves as a resource to less experienced employees.
Participates in performance improvement activities and contributes to process improvement initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Demonstrates knowledge of Vascular anatomy and physiology (Required).
Abdomen, Abdominal Doppler, and Vascular procedures (Required).
Demonstrates ability to perform carotid exams, abdominal exams, upper and lower extremity arterial/venous studies with ankle brachial indexes, PVR, post vein ablations procedures, and imaging of pre-operative/post-operative bypass grafts, stents and endarterectomies (Required).
Ability to learn and master new tasks related to the computer and AGFA Pacs system (Required).
Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds (Required).
Ability to function independently with little or no supervision (Required).
Ability to read and write legibly in English and perform basic mathematics skills (Required).
Ability for independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative (Required).
Knowledge of PACS and associated equipment (Preferred).
Good organizational skills (Preferred).
Computer proficiency in Word, Outlook (Required).
Education
Associate (Preferred).
Bachelor's (Preferred).
Field of Study
N/A.
Work Experience
2+ years experience in vascular sonography (Preferred).
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) OR Registered Technologist - Vascular Sonography (R.T.(VS)(ARRT)) OR Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) (Required).
Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) (Required).
