Uncrewed Systems (UxS) , a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Uncrewed Systems comprises unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and autonomy software.
Job Description
We are seeking talented people with computer programming skills to implement, test, and maintain software solutions written in C++. Working with the team and through individual efforts, you will be involved in the analysis and composition of requirements, design of architectural and component autonomy software features, design and implementation of the resulting software, design and implementation of test plans, and documentation of final product.
Internships are available to help students gain real‑world experience in the workforce. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior leadership. Support the Engineering team with engineering functions in one or more of the following specialties: electronics, electrical, mechanical, civil, naval, and/or chemical. Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with between 20% and 40% of the required credits completed.
Must be in commutable distance to VA Beach, VA
Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance #LI-MH1
Preferred Requirements
Understanding of object-oriented programming
Knack for writing clean, readable code
Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software
Experience debugging within an Integrated Development Environment
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements
Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
