Agency Overview
At the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, our primary goal is to protect the environment and public health by ensuring compliance with federal and state environmental laws.

What We Need
We are looking for a reliable, detail‑oriented part‑time environmental specialist to implement the Division of Air Pollution Control’s quality assurance program for ambient air monitors throughout Central Ohio.

What We Do
We implement and maintain a network of ambient air monitors that continuously measure air pollutants to ensure air quality standards that protect public health.

Key Tasks

Operate continuous air monitors in Central Ohio.

Transport filter samples to a laboratory/collection site daily.

Provide on‑site maintenance for air quality instruments.

Enter data for filter samples and transmit them to federal data systems.

Perform data analysis as needed.

Qualifications

Engineering or science qualifications preferred; 3 years training or experience in a related field.

Completion of an undergraduate core program in engineering, chemistry, physics, biology, environmental science, earth science, or related field.

Or equivalency to the minimum class qualifications for employment.

Must be able to provide own transportation for field work.

New employees in EPA’s solid waste program (excluding solid waste planning unit) must obtain a sanitarian‑in‑training certificate within probation.

Complete federal non‑disclosure form approved by DHS.
