ABOUT THE POSITION

The data analyst I adds value by enabling the business to make better decisions based on data. After gathering all relevant information, these professionals extract insights from the vast amount of collected data through statistical and analytical techniques that detect patterns and trends. Data Analysts also collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and help them develop tools for collecting, organizing and analyzing information.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Gain knowledge of business terminology and processes, including the structure of data and systems from exposure to data and techniques through various project assignments. Expand data manipulation and aggregation skills through programming languages such as SQL.
Analyze and interpret data compiled from multiple sources to identify trends and help drive business activities and decisions with guidance. Do this leveraging data mining and analytical skills.
Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to business units and leadership through different avenues, such as charts, graphs, reports, or presentations, in a way that a non-technical audience can understand complex concepts.
Develop and maintain trusting relationships with business partners by accurately and efficiently executing specifically assigned tasks relating to business unit strategies. Effectively communicate actionable insights that can be leveraged to optimize business strategies.
Complete ad hoc data, reporting, BI and analytical projects with guidance as assigned by management. Ensure that results are accurate and presented to the business in a meaningful way.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Economics, Statistics or a related field
At least two years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a similar analytical role
Strong analytical capability
Knowledge of data warehouse, big data, and applied statistics
Ability to prioritize effectively to meet established goals
Ability to communicate effectively and explain complex analytical findings in a practical and easy to understand manner.

Salary Range $55,000 - $75,000 Annually
