A Day in the Life:
The Accounting Associate will play a crucial role in classifying, examining, and analyzing accounting records, contributing to the preparation of financial statements and reports. This position is responsible for administering Accounts Receivable, invoices, and various other related clerical functions, ensuring accuracy and maintaining a clear audit trail for all financial transactions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Process a full range of invoices, including commodity and freight, meticulously verifying the accuracy of the correct counterparty, amount, and banking instructions.
Verify payment terms, approval signatures, and valid general ledger account codes, ensuring the accuracy of counterparty invoices in relation to price, quantity, and terms.
Research and resolve discrepancies in invoices, customer payments, and clear balances, ensuring accurate accounting records are maintained.
Coordinate all communication with counterparties regarding invoices, payments, customer service inquiries, and special requests.
Prioritize multiple tasks effectively and provide flexibility to work on special projects as requested.
Perform other general administrative duties as assigned within the finance department.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
High school graduate required. A College degree in Accounting/Finance is preferred.
2+ years of previous Accounts Payable experience is preferred.
Dedication to excellence, flexibility, and strong teamwork skills are essential.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks while paying close attention to details.
High aptitude for numbers and strong analytical skills.
Computer literate at an intermediate level in Microsoft Suite products (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and manage work, even in times of challenge or change.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
