Paralegal – Workers' Compensation (Columbia Office)
We seek a highly motivated Paralegal to support our Workers' Compensation practice. The role includes working closely with attorneys and clients in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
Document creation, filing, management, and analysis for large cases
Scheduling
Medical record summaries and chronologies
Procurement of medical records and HIPAA compliance
Preparation and service of subpoenas and other discovery requests
Preparation of pleadings and discovery responses
Preparation of routine status reports to clients or national counsel
Statewide roster/docket monitoring
Electronic filings/ECF with Federal Court
Tracking of time spent on client matters and entering time in CMS billing system in a timely manner
Education & Experience
Bachelor of Arts degree or Paralegal certification
2+ years of Workers' Compensation experience
Experience in insurance company billing requirements
Experience tracking and billing time spent on client matters
Experience with Case Management Software
Candidate Skills and Attributes
Attention to detail and strong organization
Thorough understanding of the litigation process
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and ability to manage a large caseload in a fast‑paced environment
Team‑oriented, client‑focused, and positive team spirit
