Shift: Night shift, 11pm-9am; 4-10 hour shifts every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday

Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Supervisor provides clinical leadership and oversight for nursing staff, ensuring high-quality, safe, and compassionate care for residents. This role supervises and supports LPNs and nursing assistants, coordinates resident care, monitors compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements, and fosters effective communication among staff, residents, families, and healthcare providers.

Qualification Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required

Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program, required

Actively registered with the North Carolina Board of Nursing, and in good standing, required

Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)

Minimum Qualifications

One year of relevant experience working in long‑term care or assisted living, preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Supervise and guide nursing staff, ensuring adherence to facility policies, standards of care, and regulatory requirements

Apply knowledge of nursing procedures, medical terminology, infection control, and resident care practices to oversee safe, high‑quality care

Review and interpret clinical data, vital signs, and documentation to support accurate resident care and staff performance

Respond effectively to emergencies and complex situations, providing leadership and support to the care team

Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, residents, families, and healthcare providers

Demonstrate compassion, patience, and attentiveness in mentoring staff and promoting a positive resident care environment

Supervisory Responsibilities

Provide clinical supervision to licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants

Essential Functions

Supervise, coach, and evaluate nursing staff, including LPNs and nursing assistants, ensuring high‑quality resident care and compliance with facility policies and procedures

Provide clinical guidance and support to staff, including interpreting policies, procedures, and performance standards for personnel, residents, families, and physicians

Conduct regular resident rounds to assess care, identify changes in condition, and ensure proper follow‑up, initiating lifesaving measures in emergencies when necessary

Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including IV therapy, internal/parenteral nutrition, and laboratory tests, documenting care accurately and timely

Oversee staff assignments and ensure adequate coverage, matching staff qualifications to resident needs and monitoring adherence to staffing guidelines

Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment, following infection control, safety, and resident rights protocols, and addressing hazards or complaints promptly

Facilitate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges, coordinating with physicians, ancillary departments, and service providers

Participate in performance appraisals, recommend disciplinary actions when appropriate, and provide feedback on clinical performance to management

Promote effective communication and collaboration among residents, families, staff, physicians, and community/ancillary service providers

Attend staff meetings, in‑service trainings, and committees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies
