Mental Health and Disabilities Coordinator - Chadron

Responsibilities
Plans, administers, monitors and maintains compliance of Administration of Children, Youth and Families (ACYF), Head Start Act and Performance Standards and other applicable regulations as they relate to the child development, behavioral health and disability component in the classroom, home base program and collaborating partners. Works in cooperation with the management team, professionals and staff to ensure all child development, behavioral health and disability concerns of children and families are identified and addressed.
Required Qualifications
Education Requirement
– one of the following degrees: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Special Education.
IEP/IFSP implementation
– Ability to write, support, monitor, and document special education services.
Compliance management
– Ability to ensure adherence to Head Start Performance Standards and all related state/federal regulations.
Mental health & disability coordination
– Experience overseeing program-wide mental health and disability services.
Collaboration with school districts
– Skill in coordinating services, documentation, and communication with providers.
Screening, referral & follow up
– Knowledge of developmental and mental health screenings, referrals, and tracking.
Onboarding Requirements
– Must meet all background check requirements and maintain a valid, insurable driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
Child outcomes & data analysis
– Competence in collecting, analyzing, and reporting child outcome and school readiness data.
Community partnership development
– Ability to collaborate with community agencies and connect families to resources.
Documentation & reporting
– Strong record keeping, data tracking, and reporting skills.
Staff training & coaching
– Experience providing training, coaching, and professional development to staff.
Cultural competence & professionalism
– Demonstrated ability to work respectfully with diverse families and maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Knowledge of Head Start Standards
– Demonstrated understanding of Head Start Performance Standards and their application across program components.
Pay and Benefits
Starting wage is $62,000 - $64,000 annually depending on qualifications and experience. Generous sick, vacation, contagious illness, bereavement and holiday pay available. Health, Dental, Vision Insurance along with matching retirement plans available. $200 smart watch reimbursement plan.
