Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of University Accounting and Reporting and exercising a high degree of independence, the incumbent serves as the program administrator for the university’s Instructionally Related Activities (IRA) funds. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with CSU policy, California Education Code, and campus guidelines through the analysis of financial data, coordination of the annual funding and proposal processes, and development of policies and procedures that promote fiscal integrity and program accountability. The incumbent maintains comprehensive records, prepares reports and recommendations for senior leadership, and provides expert consultation to faculty, staff, and students. In addition, the position supports the IRA Advisory Committee, facilitates effective communication across the campus, and delivers training to ensure the transparent, effective, and compliant use of IRA resources.

Department Summary

University Accounting & Reporting (UAR) is an integral part of University Financial Services (UFS), a department within the Administration and Finance Division. UFS provides accounting and financial services to students, staff, and faculty.

Key Qualifications

Demonstrated customer service experience requiring a high level of diplomacy and professionalism.

Thorough knowledge of GAAP, GASB, FASB, office methods and procedures; statistical and mathematical presentation of data.

Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data; prepare clear, accurate financial statements and reports.

Ability to apply accounting principles to the analysis of complex accounting problems.

Problem‑solving skills for complex accounting problems; understanding and application of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and principles.

Education and Experience

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Salary and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range: $74,256 - $85,296 per year

Classification Range: $62,136 - $90,516 per year
