Key Duties
Arrives at DSM IV diagnoses with precision and accuracy through psychological testing and evaluation sessions.
Provides crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy and psycho‑education programming as clinically indicated to assigned inmates.
Involves inmates and Department of Corrections staff in developing achievable and understandable psychosocial treatment plans.
Advocates for appropriate resources for inmates based on assessed needs.
Manages caseload demands effectively while considering both qualities of care and the security needs of the Department of Corrections.
Assumes overall case management responsibilities for assigned inmates including coordination of treatment and liaison with community agencies; maintains appropriate inmate records.
Demonstrates competency in psychological testing and in recognizing the unique needs and behaviors of adult inmates and seniors, and individual therapies.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Ph.D., Psy.D. or Ed.D. in Psychology with relevant experience that includes training in psychological testing and a minimum of two (2) years of experience, including graduate training, working in a behavioral health care or related setting.
Certifications & Licenses
Must be licensed in the State of New Jersey as a practicing Psychologist or possess an unrestricted permit to practice psychology in New Jersey (license) by the New Jersey Board of Psychological Examiners.
Valid driver’s license. Must possess own vehicle to travel between sites.
Salary
Minimum Salary: 92,001.00
Mid Range Salary: 111,630.00
Maximum Salary: 131,265.00

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during flu season, Rutgers University may require prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against seasonal influenza for the current flu season, unless a medical or religious exemption has been granted.
