Job Title: Depot Equipment Technician

Responsibilities
Perform corrective, preventive and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication and proper maintenance of electro-mechanical Maintenance Storage Facilities Equipment in accordance with wiring diagrams, schematics, operations and maintenance manuals.
Observe electromechanical components and devices in operation to detect potential failures and locate causes of malfunction.
Perform troubleshooting, identification and resolution of system and subsystem to support field technicians in the diagnosis and correction of faults.
Produce accurate maintenance records of track, third rail and related infrastructure, equipment performance, work accomplished, and other information using a computerized maintenance management system.
Analyze log files to troubleshoot complex issues and provide required corrective action and improvements.
Drive work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty.
Operate OTE to move trains in and out of the shop and for wheel turning activities in accordance with training and qualifications.
Maintain electro-mechanical equipment at the Maintenance Storage Facilities including electronically driven wheel lathes, train wash, wheel press, overhead gantry cranes; train lifting equipment; forklifts; and dock levelers.
Operate wheel turning machine, wheel press, train lifts, cranes and other depot equipment in accordance with training and qualifications.
Support the on-site spare parts management and the repair cycle from/to the site.
Produce work blocks and Job hazard analysis related to planned work.
Complete operational, equipment failure, safety and other reports as required.
Comply with Safety Rules, Operating Rule Book and first-aid procedures.
Use electronic test equipment, power tools and other specialized hand tools as required.
Ensure the execution and collection of all maintenance records and support the monitoring of daily maintenance performance.
Ensure conformance to technical specifications and operational tolerances.
Support on-site spare parts management and repair cycle activities.
Identify failure trends that may impact fleet availability early on.
Perform failure analysis and technical investigations.
Ensure all maintenance tasks are executed in compliance with safety policies and local regulations.
Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures and instructions.
Work near electrical power sources, utilizing lock-out tag-out procedures, LOTOs, and hot stick application as needed.
Perform shift rotations, including weekends and holidays, as typical of major infrastructure projects and transit operations.
Perform additional cross-functional duties on related track and third rail systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, in line with training and qualifications.
Requirements
Experience in electronic and/or electromechanical vehicle equipment maintenance.
Ability to use common and specialized tools and test equipment.
Knowledge of safety rules regarding lock-out tag-out protection or ability to attain such knowledge.
Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, operation manuals, and maintenance instructions.
Understanding of MSF Equipment Systems' operations and maintenance.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
