Job Title: Building Services Technician

Location: Pearl City, Hawaii

Type: Direct Hire

Compensation: $29.02/hr

Contractor Work Model: Onsite – onsite

Hours: 40.0

Responsibilities

Perform corrective, preventive, and unscheduled building maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication, and proper maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment following wiring diagrams, schematics, operations manuals, and manufacturers' instructions.

Conduct maintenance related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, HVAC, lighting, cranes, roofing, parking lots, carpentry, painting, and other building systems.

Respond to equipment malfunctions, completing repairs throughout the rail system, including substations and train stations.

Observe equipment in operation to detect failures and locate causes of malfunctions.

Use electronic test equipment, power tools, and specialized hand tools as required.

Complete operational, equipment failure, safety, and other reports as required.

Oversee building maintenance contracts and service work; process and contract repair requests.

Participate in training programs and adhere to safety rules and procedures, including first aid.

Ensure flexibility for shift rotations, weekends, and holidays typical of major infrastructure projects and transit systems.

Execute simple failure analysis and technical investigations.

Support defect rectification, critical failure response, on-site spare parts management, and repair cycles.

Drive work vehicles during emergencies and on‑duty responses.

Operate OTE equipment, including track maintenance vehicles, following training and qualifications.

Produce accurate maintenance records and monitor daily performance using a computerized maintenance management system.

Perform cross‑functional duties on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems according to training and qualifications.

Requirements

Experience in electrical and structural equipment maintenance.

Ability to use common and specialized tools and test equipment.

Knowledge of or ability to learn safety rules regarding lock‑out/tag‑out protections.

Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and maintenance instructions.

Current CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is mandatory; must be obtained within 12 months of employment if not already held. Company will cover training costs.

High School diploma or equivalent.

1‑2 years’ experience preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
