We are seeking a skilled
Assistant Maintenance Technician
to support our maintenance team in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all site equipment and facilities. The primary focus of this role is to perform timely repairs and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime. This role requires quick problem-solving abilities, knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and a proactive approach to equipment upkeep.
Responsibilities include but are not to limited to:
Respond promptly
to emergency maintenance requests to reduce downtime.
Quickly
identify and assess issues
to take appropriate actions that prevent equipment malfunctions.
Utilize a range of skills, including:
Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting
and repairs.
Reading and interpreting
diagrams, schematics, sketches, manuals, and specifications.
Dismantling, repairing, installing, or replacing
defective parts as needed.
Use various
hand and power tools
for repairs and maintenance tasks.
Fabricate, assemble, and test parts
as required.
Assist the
Maintenance Mechanic
in completing work orders and scheduled maintenance tasks.
Contribute to the successful completion of
preventative maintenance schedules .
Communicate with
suppliers or contractors
for part availability and cost estimates.
Submit
requisitions
for supplies, tools, machine parts, and other required equipment.
Coordinate with and oversee
licensed contractors
for specialized repairs, ensuring compliance with safety protocols such as lockout/tagout and confined space requirements.
Inform relevant personnel, including machine operators, managers, and the safety team, of major repairs, estimated downtime, and safety measures.
Maintain
detailed records
of repairs, maintenance activities, and ensure compliance with ISO quality procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support operational needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
required.
At least
1 year of experience
as a maintenance mechanic or technician in a manufacturing setting.
Hands-on experience with
routine electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems , and fabrication.
Basic welding skills
and familiarity with compressors, hoists, exhaust fans, and boilers preferred.
Knowledge of
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
is an advantage.
Proficiency with
basic math
concepts, such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
Computer literacy
for record-keeping and reporting.
Forklift experience
preferred.
Valid
drivers license
and ability to drive as needed.
Fluent in
English
for effective communication (speaking, reading, writing).
