We are seeking an energetic and innovative Lead Teacher to guide our 1st Graders through a year of explosive academic and social growth. In our small‑class setting (around 15 students), you will be the catalyst for student independence. Literacy Excellence: Deliver rigorous, evidence‑based literacy instruction using CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts), grounded in the Science of Reading, to move students toward reading independence.
Conceptual Mathematics & Science:
Foster critical thinking and a "maker" mindset through Desmos Math and hands‑on, inquiry‑based units with Amplify Science.
Instructional Support:
Work hand‑in‑hand with our Orton‑Gillingham trained specialist to provide differentiated interventions and enrichment, ensuring every student reaches their full potential.
The Learning Environment:
Maintain a classroom culture that prizes high standards, kindness, and project‑based exploration, bridging the gap between the early years and upper elementary.
Family Partnership:
Serve as a proactive communicator with parents, guiding them through the developmental shift as their children take on more academic responsibility.
Candidate Profile
You are passionate about phonics, fluency, and comprehension, and you know how to support a wide range of reading levels within a single classroom.
You value professional synergy and enjoy working with a peer teacher to share resources, ideas, and student successes.
You excel at taking core curriculum, like Desmos or Amplify, and bringing it to life through project‑based learning and real‑world connections.
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education required. Experience with CKLA or the Science of Reading is highly preferred.
