Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW
As part of our team of extraordinary educators, you will help students age birth through five develop critical communication skills. This position works under the guidance of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist and a team of specialists to support language, accurate articulation, and social engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS

SLPA certificate from the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology; must be maintained while employed.

Adherence to all Oregon Administrative Rules governing Speech Language Pathology Assistants.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively within a team concept.

Meet requirements of fingerprint‑based criminal history record verification.

Alternative qualifications may be considered by the Superintendent and/or Board of Directors.

Strength and agility to assist children with special needs and lift up to 40 lbs.

Work in diverse settings (classroom, school buildings, office, homes).

Ability to kneel, crouch, and sit in child‑sized chairs or on the floor for extended periods.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Conduct speech, language and hearing screenings using protocols specified by the supervising SLP.

Provide direct treatment assistance to identified children/students following written treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP.

Document progress toward IFSP objectives; maintain records, logs, and written communication as prescribed.

Comply with all Oregon Administrative Rules governing Speech Language Pathology Assistants.

Assist SLP with documentation during therapy sessions, prepare materials, and perform clerical duties.

Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, children, program/district staff, and community service providers.

Schedule activities and prepare charts, records, graphs, or other displays of data.

Perform equipment set up, operation, and maintenance as prescribed.

Participate in research projects, in‑service training, and public relations programs with the SLP.

Assist with non‑instructional classroom duties such as snack, toileting, clothing routines, and playground activities.

Manage, maintain, deliver, adapt and modify materials and equipment based on SLP direction.

Assist SLP in providing consultation, specialized information, in‑service training, technical assistance, and follow‑up to staff and families.

Participate in Medicaid billing process for school‑based services as directed.

SALARY AND BENEFIT INFORMATION

Licensed employees represented by Linn Benton Lincoln Education Association.

Salary and benefit information shown are based on full‑time employment (1.0 FTE) for the current school year.

Placement on the Linn Benton Lincoln ESD licensed salary schedule will be commensurate with applicant’s qualifications, training, and experience.

Linn Benton Lincoln ESD will provide an Insurance CAP to assist with health, dental and vision insurance premiums.

Employer paid PERS, holidays, sick leave and personal days are also provided.

Employer paid Life Insurance 1 × annual salary.

Employer paid Basic AD&D and Long Term Disability.
