
Shipping Technician - 3rd Shift, Plant 5

At Belmark, we produce many of the labels, cartons, and flexible films consumers see every day while shopping. In this role, you will be responsible for packaging, labeling, and staging printed products in a timely manner to meet customer expectations. Strong communication with Account Services and the Rewind Department is essential to ensure orders are completed accurately and shipped on schedule. Schedule:
2nd Shift, Monday - Thursday, 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Pay:
$21.50
$1.00 shift differential
*A pre-employment drug test and a background check are required if offered the position.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow all safety procedures required for the role and actively support a strong food safety culture by adhering to Safe Quality Foods (SQF) standards.
Package printed products and process all orders to meet scheduled ship dates. Thrive in a fast-paced environment while effectively multitasking.
Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure all product packaging specifications are completed accurately.
Communicate effectively with Account Services and the Rewind Department to meet daily shipping deadlines.
Utilize third-party logistics software systems to determine the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods that meet customer requirements.
Accurately enter job order data and operate shipping systems such as FedEx and UPS.
Operate an automated stretch wrap machine to prepare palletized orders for shipment.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Hazardous Waste Management Responsibilities:
Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials, including spent solvents, waste inks, and other designated waste products.
Place waste materials in appropriate designated drums, ensuring proper labeling.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements:
Education equivalent to two (2) years of high school required.
Ability to read, write, comprehend and follow both written and oral English communication.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.
Ability to operate a computer and perform accurate data entry.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain focus for extended periods.
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Regular attendance is required; overtime may be necessary based on business needs.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand and walk for up to 90% of the workday; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for up to 10%.
Visual ability to see clearly at both close range (20 inches or less) and at a distance (20 feet or more), distinguish colors, maintain peripheral awareness, and adjust focus as needed.
Frequent use of hands (up to 100% of the workday) for tasks such as packing boxes and using tools (e.g., utility knife); ability to reach above shoulders up to 25% of the time.
Ability to lift:
Up to 10 pounds (20% of the time)
Up to 25 pounds (20% of the time)
Up to 50 pounds (50% of the time)
(Example: lifting boxes of labels on and off a scale approximately 6 feet high.)
