
Pool Maintenance Technician

Description
The Pool Maintenance Technician, reporting to the Chief Engineer, is responsible for maintaining pool equipment, ensuring the cleanliness and functionality of swimming facilities, and performing related duties as needed.
Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance of filters, pumps, heaters, and other mechanical equipment related to operation.
Make routine maintenance repairs, referring major system needs to appropriate vendors.
Wash, scrub, and disinfect pool area. Clean and repair drains.
Test swimming pool water on a regular established schedule. Add or adjust chemicals as needed to maintain and properly balance water chemistry.
Brush and vacuum pool keeping debris, bacterial growth, and marks off of floor and walls.
Maintain the cleanliness of pool areas, including pool decks, ladders, tile, gutter grates, pool lifts, storage rooms, and surrounding areas.
Utilize proactive planning for routine cleaning and maintenance during peak usage by coordinating and integrating the pool maintenance schedule with Family Center events.
Prepare the pool and surrounding areas for special events. Provide assistance and advice for special events as it relates to pool operations and maintenance.
Collaborate with management to complete all work orders, special projects, and other pool maintenance needs.
Assist the Director to resolve any safety maintenance concerns immediately.
Monitor daily operations to adhere to all state, local, and health and safety standards and policies.
Pick up supplies from local vendors as needed.
Maintain compliance with required documentation of MSDS manual and all OSHA standards.
Remain knowledgeable of all safety and risk management procedures and respond appropriately as trained in emergency situations.
Comply with the company's drug-free and tobacco
icotine-free policy.
All other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
1+ years of commercial maintenance experience is required; prior swimming pool maintenance experience is a plus.
Ability to lift- up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently.
Must be able to legally work in the USA.
Education and Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred.
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications preferred.
