We are seeking a highly skilled
Senior Power BI Developer
for a long-term contract position based in
Houston, TX . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
Power BI development , with expertise in
M Code (Power Query), DAX , and a solid sense of
UI/UX design
to create visually compelling and interactive dashboards.

Responsibilities:
Develop, publish, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets.
Write complex
M Code (Power Query)
transformations to clean and model raw data efficiently.
Build and optimize
DAX measures
and calculated columns to support advanced analytics and reporting needs.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Apply best practices in
UI/UX design
to create user-friendly and visually appealing dashboards.
Perform data analysis and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy and performance of reports.
Support ad hoc report requests and ongoing data visualization needs from multiple departments.
Ensure data security, governance, and compliance in Power BI environments.
Required Skills & Experience:
5+ years of experience in BI and data analytics, with a strong focus on
Power BI .
Proficiency in
M Code/Power Query
for data shaping and transformation.
Strong experience with
DAX
for building advanced metrics and KPIs.
Demonstrated ability in
UI/UX principles
for report and dashboard design.
Hands-on experience connecting Power BI to various data sources (SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, etc.).
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with enterprise data modeling and large datasets.
Power BI Service administration knowledge is a plus.
Familiarity with Agile development and JIRA/DevOps tools.
