Required Skills & Experience:
• Strong experience designing and developing solutions in Power BI (dashboards, data models, reports).
• Proficiency with DAX, Power Query (M), and advanced Power BI features.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, and data integration processes.
• Familiarity with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, and related services.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and Azure DevOps.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Desired Skills:
• Experience working in public health or healthcare environments.
• Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics.
• Prior experience supporting state government or public sector clients.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an experienced Architect (Power BI Developer) to support the Department of Health. This consultant will design, develop, and optimize enterprise-level Power BI solutions, ensuring that data visualizations, dashboards, and reports deliver actionable insights for public health initiatives.

Complete Description:
The Architect (Power BI Developer) will work within the Department of Health's data team, providing technical expertise in data visualization, reporting, and BI architecture. The consultant will collaborate with analysts, developers, and stakeholders to design scalable BI solutions that comply with state data governance standards and enhance decision-making across programs.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for enterprise use.
Build and optimize semantic data models to support reporting and analytics.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into BI solutions.
Integrate Power BI solutions with SQL Server, Azure Synapse, and other enterprise data sources.
Ensure compliance with data governance, quality, and security standards.
Provide documentation, metadata, and training materials for BI solutions.
Troubleshoot BI performance issues and optimize queries, DAX measures, and models.
Support architecture governance and recommend best practices for BI adoption.
