Position Description
Information Technology Services (ITS) provides friendly, high-quality support to our communityof faculty, staff, and students. We're looking for a results-driven NetworkEngineer with solid skills and experience to join and grow with our diverseteam. This mid-to-advanced level position will expose you to a wide range ofnetwork hardware, software, and support procedures within a higher educationenvironment. We will fill this position as either a Network Engineer or SeniorNetwork Engineer based on the ideal candidate's experience.
Essential Responsibilities
Own the performance, reliability, and continuous improvementof enterprise Wi-Fi services across two campuses, supporting 1,700+ accesspoints, guest networks, Mist Edge controllers, and diverse client devices.
Administer and enhance wired network infrastructure,including Juniper and Cisco switching environments.
Diagnose and resolve complex wired and wireless connectivityissues across a wide range of devices.
Communicate clearly with end users and stakeholdersthroughout the troubleshooting lifecycle, setting expectations and providingtimely updates.
Manage critical network services including RADIUSauthentication, DNS, DHCP, and IP address management (IPAM).
Maintain and optimize network monitoring, alerting, andconfiguration management.
Perform certificate management and updates acrossmulti-vendor network platforms.
Plan and execute network upgrades, patching, and lifecyclemaintenance to ensure security and high availability.
Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and respond tocritical after-hours incidents as needed.
Partner with internal teams to identify root causes, improvenetwork performance, and enhance user experience.
Contribute to documentation, process improvements, andoperational best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalentexperience.
4+ years supporting enterprise Wi-Fi environments with 200+access points.
2+ years supporting LAN environments with 100+ managedswitches including troubleshooting, software upgrades, and hardware support.
Demonstrated Experience With:
Juniper Mist wireless and switching
Cisco IOS switching
VLANs, STP, PoE, and link aggregation
IPv4, DNS, DHCP, SNMP
OSPF
Experience Troubleshooting Connectivity Across:
Desktop - Windows and Mac
Mobile - Apple IOS, Android, Other
Various IoT platforms
Proactively manage user expectations by providing timelyticket updates and end-to-end communication throughout the troubleshootinglifecycle.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools:
Visio: logical and physical network diagrams
Excel: formulas, data manipulation, text manipulation,VLOOKUP, conditional formatting
Word: styling, tables, graphics, TOC, watermarking
Outlook: calendar invites, tasks, contacts, autoreplies
Demonstrated Ability to:
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Familiarity with AWS Route 53

Salary Range: $92,000 - $122,000
