Wheeling University is seeking a Graduate Assistant to support the Women’s Lacross Program. This incumbent will contribute to the coaching, management, and administrative tasks of our women’s lacrosse team. This position offers the unique opportunity to combine academic pursuits with hands‑on experience in collegiate athletics, supporting the development and success of our student athletes.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Coach in planning and executing training sessions.
Collaborate with coaching staff to develop strategies, analyze opponent performances, and provide feedback to student athletes.
Aid in the recruitment of student-athletes by attending high school competitions, communicating with prospective athletes, and assisting with campus visits.
Serve as a mentor and role model for student-athletes, providing guidance on academic success, personal development, and sportsmanship.
Assist with administrative tasks, such as maintaining team records, organizing travel arrangements, and managing equipment inventory.
Supports and promotes the University’s sports’ programs. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’sdegree required. Admission to Wheeling University’s graduate program is required (please see graduate program offerings for eligibility).
Maintain a 3.0 GPA throughout the entirety of graduate program.
One year of collegiate playing experience is required.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be able to meet all NCAA compliance rules and regulations, certifications and trainings.
Compensation Package:
Full tuition remission for up to 18 credit hours per academic year (must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester).
$3,500 stipend paid in monthly installments in accordance with the University’s payroll schedule.
Room (single or double) based on availability.
Position runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
