Job Summary
The QA/QC Technician supports the implementation and execution of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control program on assigned projects. This position is responsible for performing inspections, documentation, and testing activities to ensure construction processes, materials, and installations comply with contract specifications, regulatory requirements, and company safety and operational standards. The QA/QC Technician works closely with field personnel to promote quality compliance on a job-by-job basis.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance and support to field crews regarding QA/QC requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with and perform electrical testing and inspections in accordance with NETA ATS/MTS standards (training provided)
Support acceptance, maintenance, and commissioning testing of switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, protective relays, cables, and grounding systems
Accurately document test results and assist with report preparation
Support internal quality assurance processes and compliance efforts
Identify deficiencies and assist in corrective action recommendations
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and senior technicians
Maintain testing equipment and assist with calibration tracking
Follow all safety policies and job site requirements
Required Qualifications
Electrical background or related technical experience
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
Willingness to learn electrical testing standards and procedures
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and documentation
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
Preferred Qualifications
NETA Certification (Level I–IV) or currently working toward certification
Experience with electrical testing, commissioning, or power systems
Familiarity with test equipment and reporting software
OSHA safety training
Training & Development
Company-supported training toward NETA certification
On-the-job training with experienced technicians
Opportunities for advancement as certification levels are achieved
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to work in industrial and construction environments
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in confined or elevated spaces
Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
