Electrical Inspector – Level 1 (QA/QC)
Position Overview
The Electrical Inspector – Level 1 (QA/QC) role is a core field position within Halo’s quality service delivery team. This position supports electrical construction activities through inspection, documentation, and verification of compliance with project requirements. It represents the first level within our electrical inspection hierarchy and focuses on execution in the field while working within established QA/QC processes.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Field Documentation
Perform electrical inspections in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
Verify electrical installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable code requirements
Document installation quality using photographs, checklists, and inspection reports
Identify, document, and report non-conformances and deficiencies
Witness contractor testing activities and accurately document test results
Quality Control Records
Complete daily inspection reports and quality control checklists accurately and on time
Maintain organized inspection records, including photographs, test results, and corrective action documentation
Upload inspection documentation to project platforms (e.g., CxAlloy, Autodesk Construction Cloud)
Ensure QC records are properly labeled, organized, and easily retrievable
Track punch list items and verify corrective actions have been completed
Verify installations comply with NEC, local jurisdictional codes, and project specifications
Reference approved drawings and specifications during all field inspections
Identify code violations and clearly communicate required corrections to contractors
Participate in inspections with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) as required
Maintain working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards
Communicate inspection findings clearly to contractors and the project team
Coordinate inspection activities with subcontractors and other trades
Attend daily coordination meetings and document relevant action items
Submit Requests for Information (RFIs) when installation conflicts or discrepancies are identified
Escalate significant quality issues to the Lead Inspector or QC Management
Safety & Professionalism
Comply with all site safety requirements and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Maintain professional conduct when interacting with contractors, clients, and project stakeholders
Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks
Stop work and report unsafe conditions when observed
Complete all required safety training and certifications
Maintain extreme transparency in communication and reporting
Actively support cross-team collaboration to achieve project quality objectives
Lead by example in professionalism, accountability, and teamwork
Required Experience & Qualifications
1-3 years
of electrical inspection experience
OSHA 10
prior to site arrival
NFPA 70E certification required (may be completed upon site arrival)
Working knowledge of electrical systems and installation practices
Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications
Strong attention to detail with a field-focused mindset
Comfortable documenting findings clearly and professionally
Reliable, accountable, and able to work independently
