Lead Electrical Inspector - Contract
SGS is currently looking for a Lead Electrical Inspector. This role will be located at the construction site near Union City, Indiana and expected to last ~8 months or until the facility is in service.
The Lead Electrical Inspector is responsible for overseeing and executing electrical inspections for large-scale industrial construction projects, including carbon capture and storage (CCS), energy, and process facilities. This role ensures all electrical installations comply with applicable codes, engineering specifications, project standards, and regulatory requirements.
Serve as the Lead Electrical Inspection authority on assigned projects
Coordinate daily inspection activities with construction, engineering, and QA/QC teams
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior electrical inspectors
Review contractor inspection test plans (ITPs) and electrical QC documentation
Participate in project meetings, including constructability reviews and turnover planning
Inspect electrical installations.
Verify compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, project specifications, and approved installation procedures.
Review and approve electrical inspection reports and deficiency logs
Ensure accurate documentation for construction completion and system turnover
Maintain inspection records in accordance with project QA/QC requirements
Enforce electrical safety standards and safe work practices
Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday 7 am to 5 pm. A per diem and mileage will be paid depending on the location of the contractor. The position will be for approximately 8 months or until the site is in service. The candidate will need their own vehicle to get to the industrial construction site.
