Telecommunications Installation Technician
to support the Operations division of Connectivity Point. This role is available in South Carolina.

You will install and maintain systems for connectivity, including using copper wire, fiber optics, wireless networks, category cabling, sound masking, and IDF and MDF closet work. This position will offer the opportunity to have extensive on‑the‑job training while learning the beneficial skills needed as you become a valued member of our operations team.
The primary role of the
Telecommunications Technician
is to troubleshoot, identify, elevate, and resolve structured cabling problems for our customers. The technician will complete all phases of the project's installation including, but not limited to, providing exceptional customer support during field visits or dispatches, diagnosing errors or technical problems, and determining proper solutions. The areas of expertise are varied and require advanced technical knowledge of structured network cabling including installation, programming, testing of low voltage and telecommunications products. The technician primarily performs these services at our customers' facilities. A strong, comprehensive background in electronics, computers, and IT network best practices is preferred. This position requires attention to detail, punctuality, and good communication skills.
Qualifications
A High School diploma or equivalent.
A people person who is comfortable interacting with customers and team members.
Enjoys hands‑on problem solving in a fast‑paced work environment.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams).
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be comfortable working on ladders and scissor lifts.
Ability to work occasional on‑call times at night or on weekends.
Self‑motivated with a positive and professional attitude.
Must possess good decision‑making skills, be very organized and detail oriented.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in low voltage cabling and limited low energy work.
Knowledge of electrical theory, computer networking, building construction.
