Facilities Specialist
Position Type: Full Time Hours per week: 40 Supervisor: Director of Shelter Operations
FLSA: Non-exempt
Position Responsibilities:
Ensure general cleanup of all areas of the building as directed
Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas, green space and parking lot
Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders
Manage removal of garbage and recycling daily and prepare bins for routine pick-up
Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
Ensure bathrooms and rooms are maintained and fully supplied and equipped
Troubleshoot issues with HVAC system, lighting and indoor climate control as necessary
Coordinate use of outside vendors for maintenance, repair and inspection as necessary
Supervise the coordination of day and evening laundry services
Order routine supplies needed for the maintenance, repair and clean-up of building and equipment according to need and budget
Attend monthly staff meetings, weekly Kearney Center management meetings and scheduled trainings
Documentation of incidents or updates in log needed for shift change
Provide professional customer service to clients and volunteers
Use communication tools effectively including de-escalation
Utilize trauma informed care and de-escalation practices
Effective time management including ability to prioritize and assist
Ensure functionality of safety systems (e.g., fire alarm)
Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations
Education and Experience:
Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
Experience using hand and electrical tools
Cooperative and flexible with diverse people.

Work Environment: Frequent driving, sitting, and standing. Ability to be mobile is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Compensation: $15.00-$18.00 per hour
