Title: Warehouse (Backup Driver)
Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor or other Manager
Customers served: External All Summit customers; Internal Any member of the Summit team
Role Summary: Summit's warehouse associates play a pivotal role in fulfilling our customers' needs for materials and services by receiving in new material from our vendors, picking customer's orders for will call or delivery, participating in cycle counting and other inventory management practices, and provide backup for drivers as necessary. This role is Summit's entry level branch position and an excellent role to be introduced to the business and learn skills, product knowledge, and industry best practices that prepare the associate for future opportunities at Summit.
Principle Accountabilities:
Pull customer tickets to fulfill orders.
Prepare orders for shipment to customers.
Receive and stock products on a daily basis to replenish inventory.
Understand products and their capabilities and warranties.
Assist sales associates in fulfilling customer orders when necessary.
Ensure warehouse and respective outside areas are neat and clean at all times.
Maintaining safe practices and proactively upholds Summit's commitment to a safe workplace.
Provide backup for drivers as necessary and safely deliver products to customer locations.
Maintain a clean vehicle, driver logs and vehicle inspection reports
Ability to use iPad to review orders and collect signatures
Load and unload Summit trucks
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent driving record
At least 21 years of age
Valid Driver's License
Time management strong ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written
Flexibility ability to effectively adapt to change
Strong customer service orientation
Beneficial Skills and Experience:
Previous warehouse or driver experience
Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
Aptitude for learning iPad or tablet experience
Physical Challenges:
Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis
Ability to operate standard warehouse equipment
Ability to operate commercial vehicles
