Key Responsibilities
Receive and execute daily instructions from the Project Superintendent
Coordinate the mobilization of all necessary equipment for each job site
Supervise, train, and mentor crew members, supporting their development and ensuring high-quality workmanship
Read and interpret construction plans, directing work to meet all specifications
Oversee finishers and laborers, ensuring alignment with field layouts and project plans
Step in and perform concrete finishing or general labor duties when needed
Communicate promptly with the Project Superintendent regarding any changes in job site conditions that may require plan adjustments; secure approval before implementing modifications
Ensure proper use, operation, and maintenance of equipment and tools by all team members
Report mechanical issues promptly to the shop for resolution
Promote and lead the team in upholding our safety culture, always fostering a safe work environment
Maintain accurate time and material records for daily job costing
Carry out other assigned duties as necessary
Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Must be at least 18 years old
Completion of MSHA training within 90 days of employment is mandatory
Successful completion of Miner training prior to facility work
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and criminal background check
Consistent and reliable attendance
Strict compliance with safety policies and protocols per company guidelines
Willingness to travel and work at remote or out-of-town locations as required
Flexibility to work nights and weekends when necessary
Adherence to PPE requirements as specified by OSHA and/or MSHA, including but not limited to: face shield, safety (hard toe) shoes, and safety vest
Knowledge & Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software applications as needed
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with crew, supervisors, and the public
Demonstrated decision-making skills to solve job-related challenges in the absence of a superintendent
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility
Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height
Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs. as needed
Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions
Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments
Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely
Reasonable accommodations provided as necessary to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions
Work Environment
Work in elevated or confined spaces as required
The ability to repeatedly climb ramps, stairs, and occasionally vertical ladders
Outdoor work subject to variable weather, including prolonged sun exposure and airborne particles (dust, sand, rock)
Use of a respirator in environments with fumes, dust, odors, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
Always operate within a safety-sensitive environment
