Aircraft Field Service Engineer (FSE) – Aeronautics Field Sustainment
Location: U.S. Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina. Employment Type: Full‑Time, Shift: First.

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Field Service Engineer to support the U.S. Marine Corps with maintenance and modification activities for the F‑35 aircraft. The FSE will serve as the technical interface between Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment and the on‑site customer, troubleshooting and analyzing Mission Systems, Vehicle Systems, and Supportable Low Observable structures.

Responsibilities

Serve as a Nose to Tail (NTT) Field Service Engineer and subject matter expert in Avionics/Mission Systems.

Provide rapid troubleshooting and analysis of Mission Systems, Vehicle Systems, or Supportable Low Observable structures.

Act as the technical liaison to the on‑site Customer (Operations and Maintenance), resolving issues from maintenance and modification activities for all F‑35 airframe and system matters.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience with Mission Systems (Avionics) or Vehicle Systems (APG) or equivalent Supportable Low Observable (SLO)/Structures experience.

Military aircraft maintenance experience.

U.S. citizenship with an Interim Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain a Final Secret Clearance.

Desired Skills

High level of desire to learn F‑35.

3 years of experience with Avionics/Mission Systems or Vehicle Systems (APG) or equivalent SLO/Structures.

Previous Field Service Engineer experience.

Experience communicating to military leadership and senior leaders.

Fault isolation and problem analysis at the sub‑system level.

Technical report writing skills.

Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.

Experience with engineering tools such as FSE Vision/VAST, PDM, VAS, JEDI, JARVIS, and CRE.

Knowledge of CATIA and System/Software Engineering Environment (S/SEE).

Experience partnering with military operational units.

Security Clearance
Secret clearance required. Candidates must already possess an Interim Secret Clearance and be able to obtain a Final Secret Clearance.
