Job Title: Field Engineer
Location: Tampa, FL
Reports To: Project Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary
The Field Engineer position will be responsible for the procurement and management of suppliers along with the supervision of field crews and coordination between subcontractors involved with the construction of various Marine and Bridge assignments.
Responsibilities
Procure and manage suppliers.
Supervise field crews.
Coordinate between subcontractors.
Assist the Project Manager with required documents and information to support the successful completion of construction activities.
Serve as resource for project specifications, procedures, and relevant portions of contract.
Attend construction project meetings and safety meetings as assigned.
Qualifications
B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
1–3 years experience on bridge and/or steel structures; must be proficient with AutoCAD.
Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and specialty bridge design software; must be proficient with MS Office.
Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively plan and organize to meet project deadlines.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts related to structural engineering and related calculations.
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledge of spreadsheet software, word processing software, and reporting tools related to databases.
Ability to learn design software programs. Current driver’s license.
Must be able to legally work in the United States; willing to work in a drug‑free environment and agree to a post‑offer drug test; willing to work safely and keep OSHA recordable incidents to a minimum.
Additional Skills and Abilities
Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively plan and organize to meet project deadlines.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None; must work well with other Field Engineers and Project Managers on the project.
