Energy Project Associate

Job Summary:
The Ralph Lowe Energy Institute (RLEI) at Texas Christian University Energy Project Associate will support ongoing applied energy projects. This role is designed to provide flexible support across a range of initiatives that connect academic research with real-world industry and policy challenges. The Energy Project Associate will work closely with RLEI leadership to contribute to project-based work that may include market analysis, technical research, stakeholder engagement, and development of strategic insights.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

Supports applied research across energy-related projects, which may include oil and gas, power markets, emerging technologies, or resource management.

Conducts background research, literature reviews, and data collection.

Assists with analysis of technical, economic, and policy-related information.

Contributes to development of reports, presentations, and internal deliverables.

Supports coordination of project activities, including meetings and stakeholder engagement.

Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, including students, staff, and external partners.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student (or recent graduate).

Experience or interest in energy systems, business strategy, environmental management, or public policy.

Preferred Education & Experience:

Project management or research experience

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

None

Preferred Licensure, Certification, and/or Specialized Training:

Advanced technical skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of energy systems, business strategy, environmental management, or public policy concepts.

Knowledge of research methods, data collection, and analytical techniques.

Skill in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):

Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.

Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.

Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.

Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.

Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment:

Work is mostly indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours. Schedule is part-time and flexible based on project needs.

This role is an on campus, in-person position.

There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.

The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
