Overview
The Department of Psychology, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, seeks an assistant or associate professor with a Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience/Biological Psychology. Preference will be given to candidates with a research focus in 1) substance use disorders, 2) memory and cognition, 3) applied psychology, or 4) health psychology. The selected candidate will provide student-centered teaching and instruction of undergraduate courses in their discipline and will also teach graduate level courses for the MS in Health Psychology and the PhD in Applied Psychology in courses aligned with their area of expertise.
Contribute to student advising, mentoring, curriculum development, and program assessment.
Establish and sustain a strong external research program aligned with their field of expertise.
Maintain an excellent record of scholarly publications.
Incorporate modern pedagogical skills in undergraduate and graduate psychology courses.
Supervise and support psychology students in independent research projects.
Engage in service at the department, college and university levels as well as with appropriate community and professional organizations.
This is a 9-month, tenure-track position.
